Technology Trouble Shooting and Quick Fixes
If you are experiencing issues with your iPad, try the following quick fixes which resolve most issues. If the issue is not resolved after trying these suggestions, please submit a Student Tech Support work order located in the link on the right.
Restart
A restart should be your first step when you're having trouble with your iPad, especially if your iPad is stuck and won't respond to button clicks or taps on the screen.
Turn Your iPad off by pressing on the power button, then swipe
right to turn off your iPad.
Wait 30 seconds and then press the power button to turn your
iPad back on.
Hard Reset/Restart
If the restart doesn’t fix the problem, try a hard reset next. This technique gives your iPad a fresh start, but does not affect your saved data; it will still be safe.
Press and hold both the Home and Power buttons for at leas t
10 seconds until the screen goes black and then you see the
Apple logo.
You have to hold those two buttons much longer than you feel like you should before the Apple logo appears. Be patient.
Airplane Mode Toggle
Airplane mode disables Wi-Fi and Bluetooth—all the wireless transmission functions. By toggling Airplane Mode off and then back on, it forces the iPad to reconnect to the closest wireless access point.
You can turn Airplane Mode on and off in the Settings App.
Relaunch the App
If you’re having trouble with a particular app, try quitting and reopening the app.
Double-tap the Home button to bring up a list of all open
apps.
Swipe left or right to scroll through the list.
Swipe up on the troublesome app to quit it.
Tap the Home button to return.
Reinstall the App
Sometimes an app may be installed but isn’t functioning properly. When this happens, it can help to reinstall the app.
You can reinstall apps using the self-service portal which is located in the Mosyle Manager app.
Make sure your data is backed up before re-installing an app. It should be safe, but it is better to be sure all of your data is protected.
